Glastonbury Campervans

Going to Glastonbury Festival in a camper has got to be one of the best ways of doing the festival. No carrying your stuff miles across carparks and festival to find there’s nowhere left to pitch your tent. No sleeping on uncomfortable sloping ground. Good protection from the inevitable rain.
The only down sides of being in a camper are minor, like the little hill outside pedestrian gate C, often referred to as ‘the hill of death’. Slight exageration I feel as there are steeper hills on the site, and you really aren’t too far outside the festival. The queues to get in and out can be a bit busy at peak times but only a minor inconvenience in reality.
Glastonbury 2010 sees a new campervan field opening on the East side of the festival. There might not be a huge hill to climb up, but it did appear to be quite a long walk along the railway track to anywhere in the festival. Also, as it’s west side, traffic in and out is likely to be a bit more of an issue than the easy eastside route. 2010 also sees the festival starting even earlier than usual, well maybe not technically, but the car parks are going to open the previous day to allow people to turn up early and prevent the 20 mile tailbacks that happened in ‘09 due to early arrivals.
I also thought I’d use this post to put up a few pics of some of the wonderful campervans spotted at Glastonbury ‘09. Enjoy!
