Grimsby

We headed north out of the wet peak district to dry out at Sasha’s folks. This part of the journey was planned due to a 60th Birthday party and was well timed to keep us out of the rain and give us time to dry out.
We had a very pleasant stay in what is quite a grim and depressing town. I’m not going to write about Grimsby’s bad points, I’m sure this subject is well covered already! Though the friends and family we chose to spend time with made it well worth the visit.
The photo here shows a picture of the puppy that Sasha’s folks got whilst we were there, which even I had to admit was pretty cute, especially when wrapped up in a pink blanket!
The puppy also made an exceptionally good subject for my birthday present which arrived whilst in Grimsby. I’m now the proud owner of a Nikon D60 and will be looking forward to learning how to use a DSLR. So far I know how to use it in auto and have read the manual. However, having read the manual hasn’t enlightened me fully on the uses of the camera and I will have to read it again more slowly whilst trying out the various features and understanding how they work so I can take some better pictures.*
There’s not a lot more to say about Grimsby, except a passing mention of the noisiest road surface in the country connecting it with the outside world. Whether this is designed to act as an alarm for those thinking about visiting Grimsby or an alarm to alert the locals they are leaving I couldn’t decide between!
We’re just about to leave the New Forest, though I am steadily catching up with posts!!!
*having looked at the draft upload of the pic am also going to have to learn a little more about optimising images for the web!!

I can’t wait to see your pictures once you learn to operate that Nikon D60 DSLR. Curiously, at the moment, I am trying to pull a couple of videos off my FujiFilm FinePix V10 — working on capturing a little video on Pug the cat to share with my caring friends. Hope all is well with you after your moment of fame on Times Square Billboard!
