Finally on holiday!

The last couple of days have been spent only a few miles from our old home as we still had so much stuff to sort out. A planned stay of 2 days on a local campsite has now been extended to 4 to give us the time we needed to get ourselves more fully prepared for the next few months.
The move out was quite hectic and stressful due to not being fully packed up and ready to go. Slight underestimation on my part, am just too laid back and so used to the ‘whoosh!’ sound that deadlines make as they zoom past! Sasha wasn’t too impressed by my laid back attitude, especially as the deadline to leave our rented property was 12noon and at at 12.30 there was still half a van load of stuff needing to go into storage before we could even begin to load the bus up with our camping essentials. We just about held it together without resorting to pointless arguements or blamefests and eventually handed the keys over at 3.30, 30minutes before the next tenents were due to arrive!
We didn’t have far to travel to reach our first campsite, just a few miles south of Bristol on the A38. Brook Lodge Farm does deserve a blog post of it’s own and will get one later. Our first night was somewhat made easier by the invitation to eat round at a friends, which was much appreciated and some wonderful food and company was provided. A slight underestimation in the time required to check in, pitch the awning and get ourselves ready to go out meant us being a bit on the late side arriving tho. Lack of sleep the previous night, 2 hours due to finishing some decorating, meant the drive back to the campsite had to be fueled by energy drinks, even though it was only a 30minute drive.
Things are starting to feel much more organised now, we’ve dropped off the last of our bits  pieces into storage, hopefully got all the essentials together and tomorrow we will see how it all fits back in the bus as we pack to head up north.

Just wish the rain would give it a break!
